About Authier

Authier is a password manager built as a monorepo covering a web extension, mobile app, backend, and a web vault, letting users store and sync credentials across devices. The project is organized as a non-profit: rather than distributing venture funding or ad revenue, any profit the project generates is shared monthly among contributors, proportional to lines contributed as tracked in a public contrib-locs file a contributor becomes eligible for a share starting the month after their pull request is merged. The stack is TypeScript-based across all clients, managed as a pnpm workspace with Turborepo, and includes password generation alongside vault storage. Development and support happen primarily on the project's Discord server, and official builds for browsers and mobile devices are distributed through the project's own download page rather than solely through app stores.
