Free, open-source native macOS app store for Homebrew casks — browse, install, update, and uninstall Mac apps in a SwiftUI interface.
CaskHub is a native macOS front-end for Homebrew casks, giving Mac apps distributed through Homebrew a browsable app-store-style interface with original extracted icons, categories, and popularity charts. Discovery includes curated shelves, a Featured list of the top 100 casks by install popularity, Top Charts with 30/90/365-day analytics windows, a Recently Added section, browsable categories, and instant search across names, tokens, and descriptions. On the management side it handles install, update, and uninstall with live progress and cancellable downloads, can adopt apps installed outside Homebrew (like a downloaded DMG) under brew management without moving them, walks users through installing Homebrew itself if missing, and uses smart update detection that skips self-updating apps and normalizes version-suffix noise so the updates badge stays accurate. CaskHub operates on three layers: it pulls catalog and analytics data from the public Homebrew API (so browsing works without Homebrew installed), reads installed-app state directly from the local Caskroom, and runs actual installs/updates/uninstalls through the real `brew` binary, keeping everything fully compatible with command-line Homebrew usage in both directions. Category data, first-seen dates, and app icons come from a companion CaskFlow data pipeline, with a bundled snapshot shipped in the app so browsing never blocks on network access. It's built in SwiftUI with an MVVM architecture, updates itself via Sparkle, and is localized into English, Simplified Chinese, and Ukrainian. It sends anonymous usage and crash analytics via Sentry and TelemetryDeck by default, both of which can be disabled in Settings → Privacy.
