Back to HomePortable, single-file, self-hosted file server with resumable uploads, WebDAV, SFTP, FTP, TFTP, SMB, zeroconf, media indexing, and thumbnails, running on almost any device with just Python.
copyparty turns nearly any device into a full-featured file server using only Python, with all other dependencies optional. It supports resumable, deduplicated, checksummed uploads through its custom up2k protocol, with no filesize limit even behind services like Cloudflare, alongside WebDAV, SFTP, FTP/FTPS, TFTP, and (experimental) SMB protocols for accessing files however a client prefers. The browser interface includes a media player with gapless playback and OS lockscreen integration, an image gallery with a manga/CBZ reader, a Markdown viewer and editor, a text-file viewer with realtime log streaming, full-text and metadata search, thumbnail generation, and a file manager with cut/paste, rename, and batch-rename tools. Fine-grained per-folder, per-user accounts and permissions support anonymous or authenticated read/write/move/delete access, temporary password-protected shares, and self-destructing uploads. copyparty runs cross-platform on Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, iOS, FreeBSD, and even exotic architectures like RISC-V and SGI IRIX, distributed as a self-contained SFX script, a Windows .exe, or through package managers like Homebrew, Arch, Nix, and Docker.
