About FxSound

FxSound is a digital audio program for Windows built on a high-fidelity audio engine that runs as a background virtual soundcard. When active, it provides clean signal passthrough while layering on active effects for shaping and boosting sound: volume enhancement, timbre control, and equalization. It requires the FxSound Audio Enhancer virtual audio driver to function, which is installed alongside the application. The app is built with the JUCE framework (itself AGPLv3-licensed) and is developed in Visual Studio with three core components: the JUCE-based GUI application, an Audiopassthru module for interacting with audio devices, and a DfxDsp module handling the digital signal processing. FxSound is free and open-source, with a companion forum for community support and an optional donation link for supporting development.
