Harbor is an open-source cloud-native container registry hosted by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). Built on Docker Distribution, Harbor extends the standard container registry with enterprise-grade features including vulnerability scanning, image signing, role-based access control, replication between registries, LDAP/Active Directory integration, OpenID Connect authentication, auditing, garbage collection, REST APIs, and Helm chart storage. Harbor is designed for organizations deploying containers with Docker and Kubernetes, providing a secure and centralized platform for managing container images, OCI artifacts, and cloud-native software supply chains. It can be deployed using Docker Compose, Helm, or the Harbor Operator for Kubernetes environments.
