Open-source iOS app launcher that runs sideloaded apps without permanently installing them, bypassing the 3-app free developer account limit with a single app ID.
LiveContainer is an app launcher for iOS not an emulator or hypervisor that runs guest iOS apps inside a single host app, letting users install effectively unlimited apps under one app and app ID instead of Apple's free-developer-account 3-app limit. It supports multiple isolated data containers per app, so several versions or accounts of the same app can run side by side. On devices where JIT is available, code signing can be bypassed entirely; otherwise guest apps are signed using LiveContainer's own certificate. The project offers standalone and SideStore-bundled builds, both in stable and nightly channels, and supports advanced features like true multitasking with resizable in-app windows and Picture-in-Picture, tweak injection via a bundled TweakLoader, home-screen shortcuts, and sharing files or URLs directly into guest apps through the iOS share sheet. Technically, it works by patching the guest executable's Mach-O headers, hooking internal dyld APIs to redirect the executable path, overriding NSBundle.mainBundle, and dlopening the guest binary directly. The maintainers explicitly warn against unofficial closed-source builds, since all installed apps' data — including keychain items — is accessible within LiveContainer. The project is released under the Apache License 2.0.
