Free, open-source, browser-based rundown and cueing system for live events, giving production teams a shared, real-time view of schedules and show timing.
Ontime is a browser-based application built by entertainment and broadcast engineers to manage event rundowns, scheduling, and cueing for live productions. It's used by conference organizers, touring shows and receiving venues, broadcasters and streamers, theatres and opera houses, and houses of worship to plan, track, and communicate show timing across departments. Ontime works on any device with a browser, including tablets, phones, laptops, signage, and media servers, and offers dedicated views tailored for directors, operators, backstage crew, and public or production signage. It can be fully or partially automated, controlled live by an operator, or run standalone off the system clock, and integrates into existing workflows through OSC, HTTP, and WebSocket APIs, plus a Companion module for tools like vMix, disguise, Qlab, and OBS. It's available as a hosted cloud service or self-hosted for free via native Windows, macOS, and Linux builds, Docker, npm, or Homebrew, and recently added an MCP server so AI agents can connect directly to running instances. The entire project is licensed under GNU GPL v3.
