Open-source, community-built desktop client for GeForce NOW that lets you browse the catalog, tune your stream settings, and launch cloud gaming sessions.
OpenNOW is a community-built, open-source client for playing GeForce NOW, built as an Electron desktop app with the active implementation living in its opennow-stable directory. It allows users to browse the GeForce NOW game catalog, adjust stream settings like resolution and FPS, and launch cloud gaming sessions using their own GeForce NOW account. The project includes an experimental native Rust-based streaming path alongside the default Chromium/WebRTC web streamer, with automatic fallback if native streaming has issues. Beyond desktop, OpenNOW extends to other platforms: an iOS beta available via TestFlight, an Android app on Google Play, and a separate native Nintendo Switch homebrew build supporting controller-first browsing and low-latency WebRTC streaming with H.264 video and Opus audio on modded Switch systems. A separately maintained OpenNOW-Mac repository offers a more performant macOS-specific version. The project is under active development with an auto-build CI pipeline sponsored by Blacksmith, supports crowd-sourced localization via Crowdin, and is explicitly an independent community project not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by NVIDIA. OpenNOW is released under the MIT License.
