PictShare is a self-hostable media sharing service for images, GIFs, MP4 videos, and text bins, built around a simple upload API and 100% file-based storage with no database needed. It automatically strips EXIF data from uploaded photos to remove GPS tags and camera metadata, and lets you resize or transform images and videos just by editing the URL. Duplicate uploads are automatically deduplicated, and files can be grouped into immutable albums that share a single gallery URL instead of many individual links. Version 3 adds identicon and placeholder image generation, support for external storage backends with optional encryption, Markdown rendering, audio hosting with a player, URL shortening, and a browser-side 'My Uploads' tab that tracks what you uploaded locally for easy re-finding, deletion, or album creation. It also automatically converts JPG and PNG to WebP for supporting browsers and can convert GIFs to MP4. PictShare is designed to be scalable across multiple instances and offers extensive configuration options, including individual and master delete codes for full control over your data. It's released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3, with a commercial licensing option also available.
