About Portkey

Portkey is a simple web portal built in Go that acts as a startup page or dashboard, showing a curated collection of links (portals). It includes a search box with configurable keyword support and fuzzy matching, and portals can be organized into named groups or sections on the home page, with an optional multi-column, mobile-responsive grid layout. Beyond the link collection, Portkey supports adding small custom pages with HTML content. The entire application is configured through a single config.yml file, with every value overridable via environment variables. It supports dark and light modes, customizable icons (emoji, custom SVG/PNG, or automatically cached favicons), a footer and header injection for analytics or styling, and optional Prometheus-compatible metrics covering request counts, search performance, and favicon cache statistics. Portkey is very lightweight, with official Docker images available for easy self-hosting. It is released under the AGPL-3.0 License.
