Private, self-hosted DIY home security camera system for Raspberry Pi with end-to-end encrypted remote access and no cloud surveillance dependency.
Secluso is a private home security camera system built for the Raspberry Pi, developed by Secluso, Inc. and co-founded by a UC Irvine computer security professor alongside an open-source privacy advocate. It lets users watch live video, receive alerts, and open recordings from their phone without sending footage to a cloud provider. The Secluso Deploy tool handles image building, device pairing, and relay setup in about five minutes, and the system relies on an untrusted-relay architecture with forward secrecy and post-compromise security guarantees, recently upgraded to a post-quantum cipher suite for its encryption layer. Runtime binaries, the deploy tool, the Android mobile app, and the custom Secluso OS image are all built to be fully reproducible and independently verifiable against public source. The mobile app is available on both iOS and Android, and the whole stack is open source for self-hosting and community contribution.
