About Slackdump

Slackdump is a command-line tool for archiving your own public and private Slack messages, users, channels, files, and emojis, without needing Slack admin privileges or installing a Slack app. It authenticates using your existing browser session (via its EZ-Login 3000 flow) rather than requiring a registered Slack application, and can list users and channels, dump messages and threads, create a standard or Mattermost-compatible Slack Export, build an incremental archive (useful for free workspaces with 90-day retention limits), convert between archive, export, and dump formats, download emojis, and resume a previous archive with new messages. A built-in viewer lets you browse the results, or convert them into a static, browsable HTML archive. It also ships a read-only local MCP server so AI agents like Claude Code or OpenCode can analyze your archived data directly. Because it authenticates through your personal session rather than Slack's official export API, Slackdump's use may trigger enterprise security alerts or notify workspace administrators of unusual access; using it on a workspace you don't own or control may violate that organization's policies or Slack's terms of service, and you're responsible for ensuring compliant use. It's free and open source under the GNU AGPL v3.0 License, available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
