Back to HomeSelf-hosted, local-only NVR and AI computer vision software with object detection, motion detection, and face recognition.
Viseron is a self-hosted, local-only network video recorder (NVR) that runs entirely on your own hardware, keeping camera feeds and detection data off the cloud. Its functionality is built around a modular components system covering object detection, motion detection, face recognition, and license plate recognition, with a browsable Component Explorer for finding and configuring each one. Setup is done by running a Docker container and configuring everything through a built-in web interface, with separate images available for standard, CUDA (Nvidia GPU), VAAPI, and Raspberry Pi hardware. It integrates with Home Assistant, exposing a sensor entity that reports whether it's recording, scanning for motion, or scanning for objects, and supports MQTT for broader smart-home automation. The project maintains an active Discord community for configuration help and development discussion, alongside GitHub issues and discussions for bug reports and feature requests.
