Self-hostable read-it-later web app for saving articles and web pages to read distraction-free, with content extraction that strips pop-ups and clutter.
wallabag is a web application for saving web pages to read later, extracting the actual article content so readers aren't distracted by pop-ups, ads, or other page clutter. It can be self-hosted on a personal server or accessed via a managed account on wallabag.it. Content extraction is powered by Graby, php-readability, and ftr-site-config, and the platform exposes a REST API that powers a broader ecosystem of official and community clients: native Android and iOS apps, a browser extension (Wallabagger) for Chrome and Firefox, and a GNOME Linux client. Built with PHP and Symfony on a relational database backend, wallabag supports translation through a community-run Weblate project and is developed as an open, self-hostable alternative to commercial read-it-later services like Pocket or Instapaper. It's released under the MIT License.
